Adam C. Carter attended the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel’s Annual Meeting on June 24, 2011, where he was installed as the co-chair of the IDC’s Civil Practice Committee. The Civil Practice Committee of the IDC focuses on drafting and modifying legislation in Illinois, including Supreme Court Rules, and also determining if the IDC should weigh in on civil practice issues pending before the appellate courts and the Illinois Supreme Court.

On May 12, 2011, Daniel K. Cray and Scott D. Pfeiffer gave a presentation entitled “Popcorn Lung Litigation: Past, Present and Future” at the Emerging and Environmental Claims Managers Association conference in Captiva Island, Florida.

On March 31 and April 1, 2011, Adam Carter attended the Forty-Fifth Annual SMU Air Law Symposium at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.

On April 14, 2011, Adam Carter attended the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel’s 2011 Spring Symposium. The kenynote speaker was the Hon. Mary Jane Theis of the Illinois Supreme Court, and one primary topic addressed was whether Cook County, Illinois is truly a difficult venue for corporate defendants.
