Congratulations to Steve Heil and Aimee Lipkis on their defense verdict in a podiatric medical malpractice case in Kane county. Steve and Aimee defended a Podiatric surgeon who fused an excessively large accessory navicular to the navicular. Plaintiff claimed that a modified Kidner procedure should have been performed instead and that it was a deviation from the standard of care for the doctor to fuse the accessory navicular. Plaintiff asked for over $772,000 from the jury.   He claimed that the fusion failed and he had to undergo a total flat foot reconstruction surgery that left him with constant pain, the inability to run, and the necessity for lifetime orthotics.
